1. Do you give free estimates?
We don't believe in high-pressure sales tactics at American Building Contractors. A professional, courteous Field Supervisor will visit your home, listen to your wants and needs, and explain the insurance restoration process. He’ll inspect your home for damage and take measurements. After you file your claim, we'll meet with the adjuster to make sure they don't miss anything. Then when your insurance company sends you paperwork stating what they think should be replaced and the amount they are going to pay, American Building Contractors will make those repairs to your home for that amount, with your only expense being your insurance deductible. So whatever your insurance company pays is the estimate.

2. What if I have you repair something that wasn’t covered in the insurance claim?
Your only expense would be the difference between what your insurance paid for, and the price for replacing what was not paid for by your insurance company.

3. Do you have references?
American Building Contractors has helped literally tens of thousands of homeowners with their insurance restoration needs and we can provide you with drive-by references to evaluate our work and check out colors and styles. Of course, we encourage you to check out any contractor you're thinking of hiring with the Better Business Bureau and your local regulatory agencies.

4. Are you fully licensed, bonded and insured?
As the largest General Contractor in America that specializes in exterior insurance restoration work, American Building Contractors feels very strongly about making sure our employees, sub-contractors, you and your home are all protected while we perform any work. We are registered and licensed in all states where we do business and have been for years. We carry all appropriate liability and workman's compensation insurance and we obtain any performance bonds that a project may require.

5. What brands of construction materials do you use?
American Building Contractors has existing relationships with most of the largest manufacturers in America. We can buy and install virtually any product from any manufacturer. If you have a particular product in mind, ABC can get it and install it.

6. Do you provide financing?
Because this is an insurance claim, unless you want to upgrade the materials on your home, your only cost would be your insurance deductible. ABC accepts most major credit cards.

7. Can you work during the winter?
There are some manufacturer restrictions for installing asphalt shingles in cold weather. Almost all other projects can continue throughout the winter months. We will work quickly, efficiently and carefully to reduce cold air infiltration into your home.

8. Can you file my insurance claim for me?
No. Your insurance company requires you or your authorized agent to file your claim, not your contractor. However, once your claim is filed, you can use the damage report and scope of loss that we create on your behalf, to help with your claim. Further, as your contractor, we will cooperate with any adjuster or insurance professional by meeting with them to explain the scope of damage to your property and the necessary steps we must take to repair the damage.

9. Do you use sub-contractors?
Like most large General Contractors, American Building Contractors has employees who have been with us for years and also employs sub-contractors. Most of ABC's subs have also been with us for years, and all are certified and continually trained by our production staff. All new sub-contractors are thoroughly checked-out, trained and tested before they are allowed to perform any work for us. Most importantly, every project is overseen by a Project Manager employed by ABC who insures that all of our strict standards are upheld on every job and that we are in compliance with all building codes.

10. How quickly can you get started?
One of our Field Supervisors will call you back within 24 hours. He will schedule an appointment at your convenience to discuss your project, take measurements and prepare a detailed written report on what has sustained damage and should be replaced. Our Field Supervisors are more than happy to work around your schedule and come out in the evening or on weekends, whatever is most convenient for you.

11. Do I have to be home when the Field Supervisor stops by?
In a word, "Yes". At American Building Contractors we want to make sure we are taking into account all the details you are concerned about and we need you to be home to let us know what we can do for you to make your project go as smoothly as possible. At ABC we believe in keeping you informed before, during and after the project is completed, and that means constant communication between you, our Field Supervisor and all the staff members working on your project.

12. What type of warranty do you have?
America Building Contractors offers a ten year limited workmanship warranty for residential roofing and a one year limited workmanship warranty for siding, windows, gutters and downspouts, and it’s transferable! American Building Contractors has worked on literally tens of thousands of homes. Whether we work on your roof, siding, windows or gutters, rest assured that the work is backed by a meaningful warranty from a company that will be around to stand behind it. At ABC we realize word-of-mouth advertising is critical. We want to make sure that when the last nail is pounded, each and every homeowner is completely satisfied with the work we've done. If a warranty issue arises, simply call our office and talk to one of our friendly customer service representatives. He will schedule a repair technician to come out at your convenience.
